Friends of the Pound (Tweed) Inc was founded on the 8th May 2000, after a public meeting held at Tweed Heads in March 2000. The meeting produced a strong response showing the public’s concern for our four legged friends.
Our primary purposes are to rehouse the animals to save them from destruction and improve conditions at the pound.
We would also like to encourage responsible pet ownership such as de-sexing and micro-chipping.

The Friends of the Hound Greyhound Adoption Group was formed by members of Friends of the Pound (Tweed) Inc and is dedicated to the welfare of Greyhounds in the Northern Rivers of NSW, Gold Coast & Greater Brisbane.
Our mission is to create public awareness of the Greyhound as a gentle, affectionate dog and excellent family pet and we advocate the ADOPTION NOT DESTRUCTION motto.
